Making the chemical industry take the green development path

China is recognized as a major chemical country in the world. In 2015, the global output accounted for 36%. The capacity of most chemical products has ranked first in the world. However, The Sinopec is the only one of the top 50 chemical companies in the world, which inevitably gives people the impression of being big but not strong.

   For any industry, "big" is the basis of "strong". Only with high output and high revenue can there be high profit and high added value. Now we have the "big" conditions, but in recent years, troubled by the problems of overproduction, environmental pollution, frequent safety accidents, etc., we have clearly realized that only through the rebirth transformation can we obtain the conditions and power for sustainable development.

   In the process of industrialization in the West, overproduction and economic crisis have gone hand in hand, and environmental protection and production safety have also undergone a painful transformation process. China is still in the primary stage of socialism. Although it has walked out of a unique path of economic development, the government always pays attention to the development direction of various industries, timely and reasonable regulation, and tries to avoid a large-scale economic crisis similar to the West. The development process of things may be different, but the law of development is indeed the same. In recent years, the inevitable environmental pollution of industrialization has gradually become a typical problem reflecting the development of industry, and also an opportunity and entry point for the overall improvement of industry.

   We will comprehensively strengthen the improvement of the ecological environment and actively participate in global environmental governance.

   According to various data statistics, environmental problems have seriously hindered the healthy development of the chemical industry, and the "three wastes emission monitoring and treatment" of the chemical industry has been listed as the top priority of environmental management organizations at all levels. However, chemical enterprises and chemical parks are facing supervision, but they are suffering from "difficult to find a good solution". There are a large number of various environmental protection enterprises in China, but few of them can solve the environmental protection problems of chemical enterprises comprehensively and systematically. While the municipal environmental protection projects are rapidly progressing, the most important chemical environmental protection is just a "gimmick" of many environmental protection enterprises. The difficulty of governance is the root cause.
